Today we went to check out Olympic Village, Olympic Stadium, and all of the stuff they have set up for the Olympics. It was so cool! We took a special high-speed train out to Olympic Park and then walked around gawking at all the buildings and athletes. They have the park closed down until Friday, so we couldn’t go inside Olympic Stadium or the Aquatic Center or anything, but there is a huge mall in the middle of all the Olympic stuff that had a great view. We also got to see Olympic Village and all the huge apartment buildings where the athletes are living. There was some SERIOUS security to get in, but we could see all the flags for different countries flying out the windows. And when we were walking around we kept passing packs of athletes decked out in their country’s clothes. It was so cool! There have been so many advertisements and articles and conversations about the Olympics but it felt completely different to actually be there. I’m planning on going back next Sunday or Monday once the games have started and I can see all the venues up close.
Also it was sunny and in the high 60s, low 70s today which made it even better to be outside!
